SYNOPSIS

Paulo Alberton visits the Gay and Lesbian Pride Parades of New York, Johannesburg and Sydney showing his impressions of what is behind these Parades, Parties and Festivals. Through the issues that are presented in these events, Alberton delves into three different social and political landscapes. He searches for contrasting definitions of terms like Community, Political Activism, Queer Politics and Stereotype and looks at the importance of the law protecting against discrimination. He shows interesting ways that some Religions choose to deal with homosexuality and provides an overview of the HIV/AIDS issue through the life of people living with HIV/AIDS. In his personal search for identity, he finds diverse descriptions of pride from fags and dykes and blacks and whites of tongues untied requesting their love respect and dignity.
